PRESENTERS: People can attend the Conference if they have submitted a paper which has been double blind, peer reviewed and accepted and if they have paid the registration fee.

 NON-PRESENTERS: People can also attend the Conference as an observer to listen to the presentations of papers without presenting a paper of their own, if they have paid the registration fee.

 Conference Theme: Marketing, Managing and Financing Organizations in International and Local Environments

Organizations today are functioning in an increasingly complex, competitive, and dynamic global environment that requires the utilization of functional interdisciplinary functional skills vital for successfully marketing, managing and financing organizations in international and local environments.  The Academy of World Business, Marketing and Management Development (AWBMAMD) aims to share research knowledge that exists in the world in various areas of business through double blind peer review conference papers and publications.  The conference is inviting papers in all areas that will shed some light on issues that are of paramount importance to managing, marketing and financing organizations successfully.  Manuscripts for the 8th Biennial 2018 AWBMAMD conference are invited in terms of competitive papers, case studies, research in progress, special sessions and doctoral research papers in any of the various track areas specified on this website which include marketing, management, finance, accounting, human resource management, organizational behaviour, information technology and systems, foreign direct investment, e-business/e-marketing, education administration, economics, tourism and hospitality, transportations, health care, entrepreneurship, business law, leadership style, privatization, management and marketing of online institutions etc.

BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING IN THE AWBMAMD CONFERENCE

  1. Publication in Internationally Recognized Refereed Journals: Outstanding competitive papers will be selected to be considered to be double blind reviewed for publication in the following internationally recognized double blind, peer reviewed journals that are indexed in Cabell’s, Ulrich’s and EBSCO’s research data base of academic journals:  Journal of International Marketing and Exporting (JIME) ISSN 1324-5864; Journal of Management and World Business Research (JOMAWBR) ISSN 1449-3179.   2. Award for Best Doctoral Research Paper/Graduate Research Paper: A Certificate and AUD250 will be awarded for Best Doctoral Research Paper/Master Degree Research Paper.
  3. Award for Best Competitive Paper: A Certificate will be awarded for Best Competitive Paper. Commendation Certificates will also be awarded to a number of very good papers.
  4. Publication in Refereed Conference Proceedings: If your paper is accepted through the double blind, peer review process and presented at the conference it will be published in the Conference Proceedings that has an ISBN. Participants will also receive a printed “Book of Abstracts” that will be published on our website.
  5. Certificate of Membership and Participation: You will receive a signed and sealed Certificate of Membership and Participation for presenting a paper(s) at the Conference. If coming as a non-presenter you will receive a Certificate of Membership from the Academy.
  6. Chance of Winning a free iPad or tablet: All delegates (presenters and non-presenters) who have paid their registration fee and who attend the Conference Dinner have a chance to win a free iPad or tablet through random drawing of tickets. (The person whose number is drawn must be present at the Conference Dinner to win the prize).  However, AWBMAMD organizers including the Program Chair, the Associate Program Chair and the administrative staff of the institution hosting the conference cannot win this prize.
  7. Networking Opportunity: You will have opportunities to network with participants from many countries around the world.

Types of Papers for Submission:

Your submission can be in any of the following four categories.

• An abstract only paper (must be no longer than 200 words) or

• A proposal/work in progress paper (must be no longer than 5 pages) or

• A competitive full paper (must be no longer than 15 pages) or

• A literature review paper (must be no longer than 15 pages and needs to provide theoretical insights based on reviews of relevant literature).

INSTRUCTION FOR SUBMISSION OF PAPERS

Authors must adhere to the following guidelines.

1. Email all manuscripts to:

(i) Professor Gabriel Ogunmokun, Executive Conference Director/ Program Chair using the following two email addresses:

(ii) Copy your email to the track chair(s). If necessary authors can contact the Executive Conference Director/ Program chair to seek guidance on matching their papers to track area(s).  When the manuscript is received it will be sent out to be double-blind, peer reviewed. Outcomes of paper submissions will be sent within 3-4 weeks of receiving papers.

2. Manuscripts should conform to the Harvard or American Psychological Association referencing style.

3. Each manuscript should have two covers. The first cover should contain the title, abstract, full authorship, authors’ academic degrees, professional titles, affiliations, postal and email addresses, acknowledgment of research sponsors and assistance. This should then be followed by another cover that only indicates the article title and the abstract (this will be used for anonymous refereeing). This second cover should be followed by the full paper.

4. Manuscripts must not have been previously published or be under simultaneous review elsewhere. You can submit (i) an abstract only paper of least 100 words but not more than 200 words, or (ii) a proposal/work in progress paper no longer than 5 pages, or (iii) a competitive paper no longer than 15 pages or (iv) a literature review paper no longer than 15 pages. For every page that is over the specified number of pages, ten Australian dollars (AUD10) per page will be charged.

5. Manuscripts should be single spaced, 12pt Times New Roman font, with 2.5 cm (1 inch) margins on all four sides. Send the manuscript as a Word Document.

The TITLE of your paper should be in BOLD capital letters using 12pt Times New Roman font and centered. The author’s name(s) should also be centered and bold with the name of the author’s University underneath in non-bold letters.

All sub-headings (e.g. ABSTRACT, INTRODUCTION, METHODOLOGY, FINDINGS, CONCLUSION and REFERENCES) should be in BOLD capital letters using 12pt Times New Roman font.

All tables and figures should be incorporated into the body of the paper and centered on page. The title should be in alignment with the left margin, above the table/figure in bold letters. (e.g. Table 1: … or Figure 1: … ).  Source (if necessary) should be centered under the table/figure.

All in-text sources must be recorded in full detail at the end of the paper in a reference list organised alphabetically using APA or Harvard style.

PUBLICATION IN CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

For an accepted paper to be published in the conference proceedings, at least one author must present the paper at the conference and must pre-register as a condition for publication in the proceedings. The copyright will belong to AWBMAMD unless you choose to publish only a one page abstract.

As stated before, outstanding competitive papers will be selected to be considered to be double blind reviewed for publication in the following internationally recognized double blind, peer reviewed journals that are indexed in Cabell’s, Ulrich’s and EBSCO’s research data base of academic journals:  Journal of International Marketing and Exporting (JIME) ISSN 1324-5864; Journal of Management and World Business Research (JOMAWBR) ISSN 1449-3179. They can also be selected to be double blind reviewed for publication in any of the following new double blind, peer reviewed journals:  International Journal of Business and Marketing (IJBAM) ISSN 1448-9848; International Journal of Business, Social Sciences, Humanities and Education (IJBSSHE) ISSN 2201-3105.

The Conference Registration Fee entitles you to present not more than 2 papers that you are one of the authors for. It also covers the Welcome Cocktail Party, Conference Proceedings, all Conference sessions, morning and afternoon coffee/tea breaks plus two working Lunches, and the Conference Dinner.  The conference proceedings will be supplied to all conference participants and will have an ISBN. As every AWBMAMD conference is of national and international significance, the proceedings will be made available for sale to the general public. After the conference, with effect from 2018, a Book of Abstracts may  be published on the website.

Although papers accepted for presentation as a result of the double-blind, peer review process will be published in the Proceedings (subject to meeting our publication requirements), the publication of the papers is not an endorsement of the content of any of the papers by the Academy. The Academy is not responsible for any claims made in any of the papers accepted for publication in the proceedings. The authors of each of the papers are solely responsible for the content, referencing of their papers, grammar, theories, positions, and terminology, set forth in proceedings. The authors of each of the papers are also responsible for ensuring that manuscripts they have submitted for publication in the proceedings have not been published elsewhere and contain no material previously published or written by another person, except when due reference is made in the text of the paper.

One of our participants booked Claridge Hotel at a cheaper rate. It is within 5 minutes walk to the Titania hotel.

CANCELLATION OF CONFERENCE REGISTRATION: Any cancellation notification received by the Academy will be subject to the following refund policy:

  • 93% of the amount paid will be refunded if written cancellation is received on or before April 30th 2018
  • No refund  after the April 30th 2018
